Here, Mary Contrary takes some time to reflect on one aspect of life that more and more people are embracing: the often cited law of attraction. Some say we attract in our life what we feel on the inside, or, as some call it, "as within, so without", and she wonders: just because something is called a law, does that make it an all-encompassing truth? Is there no critical, individual thinking possible?

Hey there, yes you, can I just get your attention for a minute? Whoever you are, wherever you are in the world? Please, just sit with me for a moment. Forget your lists, your busy day ahead, your daily troubles. Please don't think I am preaching, or telling you what to do. Or that I know The Truth about things. I don't. I just want to put something to you: Are you ready for something new?

Monkey with very serious expression

Things that are serious in life, they must be important, because we say so, right? Well, that depends on the country you were born in, your personal point of view, and a whole lot of other things, says Franky from India, with his views on the gravity of the situation.

Sometimes we might feel a little crazy. But is that such a bad thing? Here's a little (non-rhyming) poem brought to you by James from New Zealand, to tell you that today is an exceptional good day to embrace your inner crazy.

Dieting: by now most of us have learned the hard way that it doesn't really work, does it? Move over "Guilty Pleasures," it's time we rebuild our relationship with food and see it for what it is: something to enjoy and provide us with sustenance and energy, says Mary from the US. According to her, listening to our bodies, our own selves, we can find a system that works for us, at a particular time in our life. This is her little story (as it really can be quite simple, if you let it).
